Overview

This Accounting Manager position is responsible for accounting activities related to Month-end Close and financial reporting, account analysis and documentation for BrightSpring Health Services Home Health and Hospice division operations with special emphasis on Joint Venture operations.

Responsibilities

• Manages accounting and month end close procedures for group of joint venture home health operations
• Manages monthly entries for non-controlling entries in consolidation
• Reconciles management fees and intercompany expenses
• Provides ad hoc reporting for partners
• Assists with quarterly, and annual audit requirements
• Reviews and approves reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements to ensure that they are prepared properly and follow-up on any unusual items
• Prepares and reviews business line specific accruals and journal entries
• Oversees maintenance of systems and controls that verify the integrity of systems, processes, and data
• Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes, ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization
• Maintains relationships with internal and external auditors
• Ensures that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records monthly
• Communicates key information to management
• Supervises accounting staff and directs work of others
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• 5-8 years in accounting, including 2-3 years in a supervisory role required
• CPA preferred
• Knowledge of general accounting and US GAAP required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
• Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word and related accounting software required
• Outstanding financial reporting and analytical skills required
• Knowledge of internal and external audit requirements required
• Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment required
• Knowledge of Oracle preferred
• Knowledge of healthcare accounting preferred
• Travel up to 25%
