JOB SUMMARY The Janitor will ensure the buildings are tidy, clean and well-maintained.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Comply with company Safety Policies and Procedures
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors
- Waxing furniture and cleaning fixtures
- Disposing of trash and emptying trash receptacles
- Performing minor repairs
- Keeping buildings free from indoor pests
- Maintaining cleaning equipment
- Maintaining inventory of cleaning agents and equipment
- Ensuring equipment and lights are switched off, and premises are locked after hours
- Collaborating with contract cleaning services
- Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Proficient knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with handling basic maintenance repairs
- Physically agile and dexterous
- Available to work after hours.
- Resilient to cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Basic mathematical skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE The employee should have the following:
- No minimum education requirement
- No prior experience or training required.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee should possess the ability to:
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.
- Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out.
- Prolong standing or in stationary position for 10 hours per day.
- Complete repetitive movements.
- Bend and/or twist.
- Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds.
- Pull and push a cleaning cart up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to move or traverse about the facilities.
- Walking around the facility for long periods of time, average walking of 10 hours per day with 3 breaks of 15 minutes and 1 break of 30 minutes.
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision protection)
