Position Summary

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team at the University Hospitals Center for Orthopedics. This position requires travel between locations on the Westside of Cleveland to include Amherst, Elyria, North Olmsted, Sheffield and Westlake. This is a full-time, day shift position; Monday through Friday, with 3 days in clinic and 2 days in the OR. Experienced Orthopedic PA or similar surgery background strongly preferred.

  • Provides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism (5%)

  • Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review (5%)

Qualifications

Education

 

  • Master's Degree from an accredited PA educational program (Required)

Work Experience

 

  • 2+ years as a PA preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships. (Required proficiency)
  • Recognized as proficient clinician for selected population of patients (Required proficiency)
  • Must have computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe. (Required proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

 

  • Physician Assistant (PA) by Ohio Board of Medicine (Required) and
  • Physician Assistant (PA) National (Required) and
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
  • Have passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (Required) and
  • Practice with a supervising physician (Required Upon Hire)
